This past weekend, we had the pleasure of hosting the Flymore Invitational Drone Race at our property, The Historic Savona Mill. Drone race attendees traveled far and wide to not only watch this exciting event, but compete to win a spot in the Drone Nationals on Governors Island which will take place on August 5th-7th.
Local Charlotteans also gathered around to watch the drones zoom in and out of barriers while dodging the metal pillars that support the building. Blue Blaze Brewery next door to Savona Mill provided the perfect cold beverages to keep the crowds refreshed as well as an air conditioned setting in between the heats of the race.
Andi Caruso, an attendee of the event had never been to a drone race before, but said she was in awe of the talent showcased during the races. “The talent that these drone racers had was incredible! I couldn’t believe the concentration they held and the ability to race given the perspective of the drones was something I could never master.”
We wish the winners the best of luck in the Drone Nationals!
